Blame The Heart

Blame the heart for her foolishness
As she sweeps the rational
Hides the truth and tears bluntness
Yet gives shade to emotions and innocence
Protects the child-like eyes
From the painful tears of ignorance

Blame the heart for her temptation
As she blushes at the stroke of a glance
Lingers lightly along the sweet lamentation
Yet chooses ethereal love over mortal lust
Paint less pain over sculptured pleasures
Wordless trust over blinding promises

But blame you and me
When we trace the stained
But wipe away the ones that ought to reign
