Favourite Poem

Or at least, one of my favourite poems. As I am now perpetually stuck in front of a creative mental block, allow me to share this poem with you. This is the one that got me painfully hooked on Ee Tiang Hong. It's hard not to read him without feeling a tinge of sadness. If you want to feel exile, this is one the best poets to do just that. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Dejection

The days drag on,
And the nights, the
stars
Suggest eternity.

What are all the noisy continents
Or all
the oceans in their quiet turbulence,

And what the infinitesimal
mind
Building fragile cities of its own empire?
When my heart,
Sprawled,
islanded,
Like a dying oasis,
Withers in your absence.
