When My Pupils

When my pupils ask,
I answer:

the best as I can,
as a teacher,
sister,
student and friend,
worrying if I've done
all that I can.

When my pupils look,
I smile:

the kindest I can,
make them see,
nothing is wrong in being wrong,
that imperfection is and can be
perfection,
still.

When my pupils listen,
I sing:

stressing rhythms in my word,
make them understand,
my love for poetry
and them.

and when my pupils
are not:

looking, asking or listening.

I pray
for and unto
Herim.
