Hello Beautiful People!

My brother in poetry, Jamal Raslan, along with the folks of Poet's Passport are organising a tribute event to the big guy himself Gil Scott-Heron. If you haven't heard of the name, there's a high possibility that you've known the ever compelling piece called "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" instead. If you haven't heard of the name, this event is the best opportunity to get yourself acquainted with his works and the reach of his influence in many.

The Details

In 3 weeks time, POET'S PASSPORT will pay homage to someone who has influenced so many rappers and emcees and may have been (without realizing it) the guy who laid the foundation for the cultural phenomenon known as Hip-Hop.
Watch this space as it will be updated with details of the coming session furiously as we count down the days. It will be explosive like nuclear, blowing your mind into something new and clear. It will be a Revolution to what you think of poetry, and you can't miss it because it will not be televised, it will be live, it will be free and when it happens-
It will be Peace, Love and Poetry.
  • Venue: Krish Restaurant, Cyberjaya
  • Date: Friday, June 1st, 2012
  • Time: 7.30pm onwards
