Hello beautiful people! There are two events happening at about the same time. Got me scratching my head which one to head to as well. But it might be a bit easier for you to decide lah. So yes, these events will kickstart at the same time but at two very different venues:

  • THE BIG FISH, a monthly story telling event, will be welcoming its patrons from 8 pm onwards at Nero Fico, Damansara Heights. Bring your friends, have dinner and perhaps a few glasses of red (or white) as you listen to real stories told live. Here's the lowdown ->

This month's theme - "So, where are you from?" Stories about identity and misidentity. This month's storytellers are:
Elaine Foster - Storyteller, educator specialising in performance poetry and founder of The Big Fish.
Matt Ferguson - A world citizen in the springtime of his life, in search of adventure and always wondering what's over that next hill.
Michelle Augustin Barbour - A bundle of repressed instincts held together with spit and coffee.
Augustin Dennis - Stand up comedian
Luwita Hana Randhawa - Stand up comedian
Kubhaer T. Jethwani - Kubhaer currently directs for fun and money but in a previous incarnation used to act and write poetry as a passion.
Hosted by Melizarani T. Selva

  • AZ SAMAD, a very familiar name in our local music scene, will be launching his 8th solo reason tonight and I am more than happy that he calls it "electric poetry". How cool is that? What makes it cooler is that the event will be held at Merdekarya. As we all know, Brian Gomez' gig venue has to be one of the best places to hang out, chill and enjoy performances at the moment. Two of my Numinous gigs have been held here, to full houses, each time. So head over to Merdekarya tonight to enjoy the works of the amazing Az :) Here is the lowdown ->
Be among the first to listen to the electric guitar textures, effects and looping in this upcoming album.
To add to the celebrations, there will be some performances from guest musicians, singer-songwriter Anna Chong, fingerstyle guitarist (and my student), Lai Ze Ren & Ng Chor Guan on solo theremin.
I'll also be performing some music from the new album! =)
Limited handmade numbered copies of [in the deep night/electric poetry] CD will available for purchase at the event.
